In recent months evidence of unlicensed appliances
using Otter Easifix
based sealing systems have been identified at the Hometech
and Chicago
Trade Shows.
It is an ‘Infringement’ under the United
Kingdom Patents Act 1977 to make,
use or sell unlicensed ‘Easifix’ appliances
in the UK and similar patents apply
in China and other major kettle markets.
A typical Easifix system will consist of some or all of the following:
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
| An element plate
that forms the base
of the vessel |
|
A support moulding
situated below the
element |
|
A seal with a
resilient ‘side
acting’ profile |
|
‘Details’ in the vessel
to position the
support moulding |
Otter Controls
grant licenses to kettle and jug manufacturers to
allow the
Easifix system to be incorporated in their water
heating appliances -
providing the appliances include electrical components
and/or connectors
manufactured by Otter Controls Ltd.
| Otter, Otter Easifix and |
 |
are trade marks of Otter Controls Ltd. |
